About Dutch Dairy Centre
The Dutch Dairy Sector has a unique position in the world. Since the start of the last century Dutch cows, Dutch farmers and Dutch cheese makers are famous all over the world because of their professionalism and high quality.
The Holstein-Friesian breed is number one in the world when we talk about milk production. This breed’s origin is pure Dutch. First, second and older generations of Dairy Farmers worldwide often have their roots in the Netherlands. The Wageningen University is world famous because of the high academic level and innovative position.
With this background it is logical that the Dutch Dairy Sector is in the spotlight of many international organisations. The Netherlands has the highest percentage of cows being milked by Robots; the milk quality is also extremely high.
Three out of the five widely used milking robots are manufactured in the Netherlands, two of the biggest worldwide operational semen organisations are based in the Netherlands, and two of the three internationally used Herd management programs are controlled by Dutch based companies.
The Dutch Dairy Centre (DDC) is a network of Companies based in the Netherlands who supply a wide range of products and services to the international dairy industry for farmers, farmer co-operatives and milk factories.
